The Geneva Magnificent Jewels sale, which is a part of Christie’s Luxury Week, will be led by the 18.18 carat pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond known as The Fortune Pink (estimate: US$ 25,000,000-35,000,000), according to Christie’s.
The largest fancy intense pink pear-shaped diamond ever put up for auction is this extremely unusual stone. The diamond, which weighs an auspicious 18.18 carats and is sure to pique collectors’ interest, literally translates to certain wealth in Asia.
The 18.96 carat Winston Pink Legacy, which fetched CHF 50,375,000 and set a record for the highest price per carat ever paid for a pink diamond sold at auction, was the largest vivid pink diamond to date to be sold at Christie’s.
Rahul Kadakia, Christie’s International Head of Jewellery: “After The Rock, a 228 carat diamond sold this May in Geneva, Christie’s is proud to present The Fortune Pink, the largest pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond offered for sale at auction. With its auspicious weight of 18.18 carats this exceptional pink diamond of phenomenal colour will certainly bring good fortune to its new owner.”
The Fortune Pink will be revealed at Christie’s New York the week of 3 October, before touring to Shanghai, Taiwan and Singapore. This rare diamond will then be on display to the public during Christie’s Luxury Week at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva from 2 to 8 November.
