For the 2017 edition of the Cannes International Film Festival, Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, Official Wine Supplier to the Festival since 1992, once again is opening its praised Mouton Cadet Wine Bar.
Entirely imagined and designed by Parisian decorator Mathias Kiss on the rooftop of the Palais des Festivals, the Mouton Cadet Wine Bar will be the perfect setting for the cinema industry to meet during the fortnight. This year, it presents a new theme to celebrate the Festival’s 70th Anniversary : The Sunset Aperitif. From May 17 to 28, the Mouton Cadet Wine Bar will once more be the talk of the Festival as the perfect spot to enjoy Mouton Cadet wines while admiring the dazzling views of Cannes Bay at sunset.
Presenting The Sunset Aperitif
As the sun goes down on the Cannes Bay, filling the air with magical light against a backdrop of magnificent views, festival-goers will assemble at the 2017 Mouton Cadet Wine Bar for a special moment, the Sunset Aperitif. The Sunset Aperitif is an elegant cocktail hour, mingling exquisite food and wine pairings, fine music and great conversations from a wide range of personalities, media and guests, either as they finish a hard day discussing cinema or as they get ready to leave for red-carpet events.
The first Sunset Aperitif took place at the Grand Opening of the Mouton Cadet Wine Bar, on the evening of Thursday 18 May, 2017. Cinema splendour will be at its climax as the legendary French composer Michel Legrand (The Thomas Crown Affair, The Young Girls of Rochefort, Summer of ’42) offers an enchanting break from the hubbub of the red carpet with a live performance in an intimate setting.
The Most Admired Venue of the Cannes Film Festival
Since 2010, the Mouton Cadet Wine Bar has welcomed international directors, actors and public figures from the entire cinema world. Last year, while Woody Allen and Jesse Eisenberg enjoyed the peace and quiet of the bar, Eva Longoria chose its exclusive surroundings as the venue for her traditional charity gala dinner in favour of the Global Gift Foundation and the Eva Longoria Foundation.
Last year, film directors Xavier Dolan, Nicole Garcia and Jonathan Jakubowicz and their casts opted for the Mouton Cadet Wine Bar’s decor and idyllic views for their interviews and press junkets. The Mouton Cadet Wine Bar also welcomed international talents such as Robert de Niro, Usher, Marion Cotillard and Léa Seydoux, as well as the 2016 Festival Jury (Arnaud Desplechin, Kirsten Dunst, Valeria Golino, Mads Mikkelsen, László Nemes, Vanessa Paradis, Katayoon Shahabi and Donald Sutherland) and its president, Australian director George Miller, for the closure of the Festival.
The Mouton Cadet Wine Bar and its 2017 Collector’s Item

This year again, the Mouton Cadet Wine Bar will be the preferred Cannes venue for visiting celebrities to discover its new collector bottle, the 2017 Cannes Mouton Cadet Limited Edition.
