Greyfriars Vineyard English Sparkling Wine is now being served by the glass in The Coral Room, at The Bloomsbury, London.
Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the Sparkling Fumé is produced in limited quantities at Greyfriars vineyards on the south facing chalk slopes of the Hog’s Back in Puttenham, just outside Guildford in Surrey.
Owner and Winemaker Mike Wagstaff says: “We are delighted that our unique Sparkling Fumé has been included in what we understand to be one of the biggest English Sparkling Wine Lists in the UK at The Coral Room.”
“As far as we know we are the only UK vineyard to make a Sparkling Sauvignon and we are thrilled that clients at The Coral Room will have an opportunity to sample our unique delicious wine by the glass,” adds Mike.
Master of Wine Anne McHale has carefully curated the all-English wine list at the new Coral Room bar.
“I have selected the Greyfriars Sparkling Fumé for its exceptional value for money and the contrast it provides with the other wines in the selection; its zingy freshness and characteristic Sauvignon Blanc aromas of gooseberry and lime make it a perfect foil to some of the richer, more savoury wines,” says Anne, who adds: “The quality of England’s finest fizz is growing year on year, and at The Bloomsbury we’re proud to be champions of this exciting local product. Our effervescent line-up at The Coral Room, one of the most extensive in any bar in the country, is arranged by county and will showcase a range of bubbly styles from classic through to modern and quirky.”
