Masterworks: Imperial Alchemy – A Rare Falangcai Bowl

This bowl was thrown and fired at the Imperial kilns and painted at the Forbidden City’s workshops. The gold-pink rare falangcai bowl is among the very finest enamelled porcelains made for the personal use of the Kangxi emperor. It was once owned by celebrated collector Henry M. Knight. This is its first appearance on the market in over thirty years and is a highlight of Sotheby’s upcoming sale Imperial Alchemy The H.M. Knight Falangcai Bowl (3 April, Hong Kong).
