Dressing Your Luxury Baby in Style!

Eat Love Savor Magazine has expanded its curated selections to include babies and children, so we spoke to T.V. Celebrity Baby Trend Expert Rachel Florio-Urso to get some insight into elegant clothes for babies and children.

We think there’s nothing better than a smartly dressed baby. What do you look for in great luxury baby clothes?

High quality premium cottons that are typically one piece such as a kimono is the go-to baby outfit. It’s soft for baby’s skin, looks stylish and makes changing baby a breeze! I love seeing a baby in a classic romper with a peter pan collar. Baby boys gain that polished Upper East Side look by adding white knee high socks to their romper. I have a love for fabrics in seersucker for boys and small pink flowers for girls. I think anything purely organic is always a smart choice!

Why are these elegant and luxurious baby clothes important to you?

As a baby trend forecaster and a mother of three I have certainly seen many brands and trends come and go, but the more luxurious brands succeed due to their quality workmanship and classic styles. Elegant Baby makes a wonderful cable knit blanket which also comes in a matching romper and hat and I’m sure they will continue that collection for years to come. They also make some of the trendiest threads season to season. I only put my own children in quality clothing that looks great even after several washings. I have to be proud of a brand in order to pitch them to the media and to the consumer so I only work with manufacturers that are of quality. It’s hard to tell an excited new brand that you will pass on publicizing them, but I have to be honest. If I wouldn’t buy it, I won’t pitch it. At the end of the day it always goes back to quality versus quantity!

Great taste is cultivated. What are you trying to do to cultivate kiddie connoisseurs?

Everyone has their own sense of style so I don’t force my opinions on anyone. I educate consumers as to the difference in fabrics, cuts, and manufacturers. My objective is to expose them to high quality brands and let them decide which ones they want to purchase. Consumers will love the brands that I represent!

What are some of your favorites right now?

I have so many! My favorite baby shoes on the market are by Chelsea Baby. There is nothing more stylish than seeing a baby boy in Chelsea Baby bow-tie recycled fiber shoes! You can easily get the preppy look by pairing them up with a Kids Organic Dayjama or you can go hipster by cuffing a dark pair of denim jeans with a hip Little Trendstar tee. The BEST of the BEST in little girls dresses has to be Djäknemåla! Best swimwear for the entire family has to go to Stella Cove!
