Warm weather countries have long understood the benefits of the afternoon siesta while in North American such an activity can be viewed as laziness.
Fortunately, this attitude is changing now that we have medical evidence to support the health and mental benefits of a daily cat nap.
Great for Health and Well Being
Summertime naps are even more beneficial as you can load up on vitamin D while napping in the great outdoors on a hammock or sprawled out on a blanket at the beach. Just be sure to apply plenty of sunscreen before your nap and ensure that someone is watching over you. The sound of crashing waves or whistling birds couldn’t be more evocative of sleep. If you’re too busy at work to sneak away to the beach you can still take in a summertime nap by visiting a Power Nap Spa such as Yelo Spa in New York City.
