The British made, customisations of Sharon Marston’s work have been commissioned to adorn private residences, palaces, hotels, cruise ships as well as swimming pools.
Designer Sharon Marston has recently extended her vast array of projects and publications internationally with recent installations including the Gold on 27 Bar in the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, The Royal Plaza Shopping Atrium in Doha, and King Abdullah’s Sports Stadium in Jeddah to name a few.
Each piece is hand crafted in the company’s London based studios, where each work of art is made to order, ensuring that the installations sit perfectly within all of their final locations. Sharon Marston and her team have recently finished completing several installations for very decadent palaces in Saudi Arabia, Crockfords on the Nile Casino in Cairo, as well as villas in Beirut and Oman. Next comes the launch of the touring exhibition Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style, at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. From November 13 to February 13, 2017, Sharon Marston will be continuing to sponsor and showcase chandeliers in the casino rooms of the exhibition. Some of the other current projects that the studios are working on involve feature designs for luxurious golf resorts within the US, as well as decadent penthouse schemes in Shanghai.
About Sharon Marston
Since the opening of the studio in 1997 Sharon Marston has developed a team of highly skilled, trained staff who hand-craft the decorative components of the lights customised to the client’s exact specifications. The work fuses materials sampled from a range of industries and craft disciplines crossing boundaries between art, fashion, product design and combining traditional processes and techniques with contemporary design. Materials such as fine bone china, hand-blown glass, woven polymers are commissioned for each project to work in harmony with the fibre optic filaments – creating dramatic lighting features for any setting. They specialise in the design and creation of bespoke sculptural light installations for interiors working to an architectural scale. The studio has won international acclaim for its range of breathtaking chandeliers, vibrant backdrops and luxurious room dividers and has pioneered the use of fibre optic technology in bespoke lighting. Each design introduces the light source through the specialised use of fibre optic filaments, which, combined with colour and form, give the work its signature ethereality.
