What is Filigree?

Filigree is a delicate kind of jewellery metalwork, usually made of gold and silver and with tiny beads or twisted threads, or both in combination. They are soldered together or adhered to the surface of an object of the same metal and arranged artistically into motifs that suggests lace. It was popular in Italian and French metalwork dating from 1660 to the late 19th century.

About the Bessa

The drawers worked in filigree mark the excellence of the piece of furnishing and pure handmade jewelry crafted by the most experienced Portuguese artisans. Positioned on the front of each drawer is one key-shaped handle that was distinctively worked and silver-plated with fine gold rendering this piece unique and distinctive with the delicacy and refinement of its extraordinary details. The base of the table is made of solid brass and was inspired by a jewelry bracelet. Materials: Silver (fine fold plated), Solid brass, lacquered wood, velvet.
