An Inside Look at their Home and Private Life
They have imagined and built all of this together. To illustrate Gérard’s tale Isabelle and Hubert d’Ornano have opened to us the doors of their homes in Paris and in the countryside. The Renaudière, in the Loire valley, is the main décor for the chefs memoires. This house is at the heart of life and events of this great french family: parties, weddings, hunting seasons… Gérard takes us behind the scenes with humour and sensitivity.
Well known for her elegant yet relaxed receptions, Isabelle d’Ornano worked hand in hand with her chef to create recipes that allied her Polish family heritage and her cosmopolitan experience.
« Gérard became the soul of the home », says Isabelle, « he would add his personal touch to every recipe. Our guests would delight in anticipation of his surprises. Everything he touched became delicious and beautiful! »
To end on a gourmet note, the chef shares 22 recipes that have contributed to the fame of this particularly inventive and refined table.
