Avant-garde Contemporary Artist Ilhwa Kim to showcase a selection of artworks from the infinitely immersive collection “Seeds of the Universe” for the first time in the United Kingdom.

Ilhwa Kim’s work combines contemporary Korean tradition with the contemporary art world. She is quickly becoming one of the most important contemporary Asian artists. today. With works found in several museums around the world as well as t major exhibitions and well known art fairs including Art Miami, Art Paris, Art Central Hong Kong to name a few.

About the Intricate Artwork and Exhibit

On display at this beautiful and prestigious venue, over 20 of Ilhwa Kim’s latest artwork, immersing visitors into the depths of her works and displaying the power and dedication present in each piece she creates.

Each seed presented on every piece of her works, is made by hand, out of Hanji, a traditional type of handmade Korean paper, from the inner bark of Paper Mulberry. The sheets are dyed with thousands of different colors and cuts and rolls the paper to craft them into ‘seeds’, not one of them is identical, which gives her work its unique characteristic.

There is great depth to the work that only seeing it in person will make apparent, but even still, the landscape of these universes draws you in and captivates, presenting distances, short and long, dramatically and free from optimal point of view. They are truly an opportunity to lose yourself into the multi-dimensional fields of shapes and colors.
