ARTS & CULTURE

Featuring striking couture images of renowned photographer Cathleen Naundorf’s work with Polaroid photography, Haute Couture represents a series of images produced over six years of the artist working with some of the world’s most celebrated fashion designers.

For the series, Naundorf captures scenes of models in exquisite haute couture pieces by Chanel, Dior, Gaultier, Lacroix, Elie Saab, Philip Treacy, and Valentino staged in lush and unexpected environments. Taken with a large-format camera, Naundorf’s distinctive technique is inspired by her mentor Horst P. Horst and marries instant film’s characteristic color with a play on shadow and light, yielding stunning, otherworldly images.

As a rising force in both the fashion and art worlds, Naundorf’s work provides a harmonious blend of fashion, fine art, and photography, and offers a fresh take on the esteemed world of Haute Couture. www.cathleennaundorf.com
